Frequently asked questions
What is a good CRS score for Express Entry?+
Recent general draws have settled between 480 and 540 CRS. Category-based draws (healthcare, French, trades, STEM, transport, agriculture) have ranged from 380 to 470. A score of 470+ puts you in the realistic zone for most rounds.
How can I raise my CRS score?+
The biggest levers are (1) writing or rewriting IELTS / CELPIP to reach CLB 9+, (2) adding French (TEF Canada at NCLC 7+ is worth +25 or +50), (3) gaining one more year of skilled work, (4) earning a Canadian credential, and (5) securing a provincial nomination (+600).
Does a job offer guarantee an ITA?+
No. Only a valid LMIA-backed or LMIA-exempt job offer in an eligible NOC adds CRS points (+50 or +200). A provincial nomination (+600) is the only single factor that almost guarantees an invitation.
Is this score official?+
No — this is an estimate built from IRCC's published CRS tables. Your final score is determined by IRCC once you submit a complete Express Entry profile with verified test scores, ECA and work history.
